As the other reviewers have said, this is a beautiful book, both text and photos. I also own the older “The Beatles in Rishikeshâ€; the quality of the photographs in this new version (same text I think, with new bits by Pattie and Donovan and a new intro) is much better.....you can actually see that John’s Martin D-28 has a tortise pickguard! (yes, I’m that obsessive). Even if you own the older book, this is worth buying, and if you don’t own it this is a great bit of Beatle history, especially with the 50th anniversary of the White Album this year. Highly recommended.Update—I was so fixated on the photographs, I now realize Mr. Saltzman’s text is new also. My apologies, and all the more reason to buy this new version.
I thought it was a very good illustration of their time at the Ashram. I really liked Paul Saltzman's story of why he was in India & at the Ashram. I also loved the way The Beatles made him welcome within their Group. Great to see so many different variations of photos seeing that the Press were banned here. All in all, a very good book to add to my Library on The Beatles.
Great candid shots of the Beatles and friends
Fabulously put together
I returned because it was exactly the same book by Saltzman that came out previously.
This is a really nice book. A very high quality book with beautiful photos.
Loved it !!
Beautiful-looking book, a small window into that time. Read prudence's book for just a wee bit more info.
